Overview
After the 30th of June I will be streaming on a daily basis in the afternoon from 2pm to 6pm excluding weekends. Additionally to that I will create a coaching environment, where I can motivate and push players to reach their goals. The plan is to show everyone how cool esports can be and push the local Rocket League scene with events and coachings.
Why am I doing this?
Since the beginning of Rocket League I never had the time to focus on developing something bigger in Esports. In Spring 2018 I started to stream a bit and really enjoyed it. I was able to keep up the regular streams aside from school and had a great time. Things changed over the summer. I started to work fulltime and got into a beautiful relationship. This reduced my time available for Rocket League and Esports. To not fall behind and keep up the skill and improvement, I focused on competitive gaming. For 2 years now I have been trying to get a good balance between work, girlfriend and gaming. On the 29th of June my first work period in civil service is over. The next step in my “working life” will be at the FHNW studying Business of IT. This will start in September therefore giving me 2 months of time working in Esports. I can see a lot of potential in Esports and want to use this time to make the best out of it.
What is my goal?
Personally I love Esports. It connects people from all around the globe and lets rather lonely or shy people show their potential as well. I am introverted and many people in my environment do not see gaming the same way as I do. Whenever I preferred to stay home and play games or was a bit different from others, they didn’t understand me and asked why I’m not like the others. Those circumstances made me not talk much about Esports and rather hide that “different” side of me. Slowly but surely I gained self confidence and started to accept myself as who I am. A big part here is that I was picked up by Servette getting me a real player contract. Somehow people start to accept it more when you gain money with it.
My goal is that people like me should not feel bad for what they like to do. I want that people in Esports can be proud of where they are and what they are doing. Even if there are some people that think you are different and it’s weird to play games, prove them wrong and show them how good and special you are.
How can I reach this goal?
First I will try to stream on a daily basis to create content. I want to show people some gameplay and talk to everyone being interested in it. I want to encourage others to stream as well, to show their personality and their gameplay. It’s a great way to speak with people all around the world and show them your talent.
Additionally to the streams I want to build up a coaching environment for everyone being interested. I want to push the local Esports scene in Switzerland so it will be accepted even more in the crowd. Everyone that is interested can send me a DM on discord or contact me here and I will try my best to help you. I want to help newcomers get into the scene and learn the correct behaviour to become great players. The swiss scene might be a bit complicated sometimes, so I am happy to introduce you to everything.
Why 50%?
I have received an offer from my last workplace before the civil service to work for them again as soon as I am done. My motivation for Esports is very big so I arranged a 50% contract with the company leaving me with another 50% for Esports. The plan is to work as a programmer for them in the morning and be available in the afternoon and evening for everything Esports related. This should keep me on track with a good daily routine.
Concluding words
I am very motivated but scared at the same time. This could be a huge opportunity or a big upset. No matter what happens, I will try my best and work as hard as I can to make this possible. I believe in this and appreciate all the support I get.
